I remenber 9-11 very breifly. It happened so fast. I remenber being in a class in middle school when all this happened. The PA turned on and the principle says in a ddep grim voice “I’m sorry for the intturuption, but today American has been attacked by terrorists.” He then tells the classes that all the coverage was on TV. I remenber my teacher walking from across the room to grab to remote. I didn’t think to much of it I thought it was one of those domestic disturbances. She turns it on and the first the I saw was two towers on fire. Everyone didn’t know what to expect when seeing that for the first time so we all looked at the TV in disbelief. Shortly after a tower falls and everyone starts screaming, and yelling. As it crumbles I can hear someone from another class crying. One of the student’s uncle had worked at the world trade center in New York. Later she heard that he had not gone to work that day and he was okay. As I kept watching I saw people just falling out of the building, freefalling to the ground. It hurt me to watch that; some guy just jumps out the window out of desperation. The 2nd building collapses and another cry of tragedy can be heard through out the school. after it was all over, the world recognized our peril and now after 8 years I am still reminded of that day. 8 years later we still comemorate those who were lost on that day.

October 12, 2009Yesterday, my friends and I went to the movies. While we waited for our movie to start, we walked around the mall. As we walked I people watched through the store windows and saw the american slice of life. Inside the food court, I saw lots of families, talking, laughing and eating. It was packed with over 15 restaurants to eat at. I went to panda express and saw lots of hispanic workers at a chinese resturant. I then saw a little girl holding hands with her mother as they waited in line to purchase food. After we ate we walked around the mall some more. We walked back to the movies and saw a guy on stilts with a devil costume on. I then realized that we live in America. It only gets this weird in america during october.

October 12, 2009The video entitled “Gnarls Barkley – Who’s going to save me?”, is an intense example of what couples feel like when they break up. As the woman breaks up with her boyfriend, the guy explains to her that she has “taken” his heart making him “heartless” for future relationships. The guy then stabs himself and presents his heart to her and says it’s her’s. The heart comes to life and drips blood all over as he walks around mourning and singing “Gnarls Barkley”. The heart then drops to the ground lifeless and then a head appears from the heart and it’s the guy’s. The theme i believe of this movie is that after a breakup, there is a new self and that heartache is only temporary. The head comming out of the heart is what I believe is the new self.

Brad Pitt, Albert Einstein or Lincoln; Attractive, intelligent or strong? Who would you rather be? All three are great attributes to have in their own way, but which one is the most appealing? Being attractive grants one a social status, being intelligent enables one to have a deep understanding of the what is unknown to most of society and being strong enables one to overcome tough obstacles with a positive mindset. I, myself would want to be seen as strong, because anything is possible with just the right mindset.
Strong people have a way to persuade themselves that everything will be okay, and if it isn’t, then it is what it is. I know lots of strong people who don’t look attractive or are intelligent but are looked up to like role models. Their confidence in themselves and what they believe, makes them look attractive. For example, I know a lot of stupid ugly guys who are strong and are confident who live very successful lives. When I talk to them, they tell me that it’s all about confidence and a strong personality. If you tell yourself that your the coolest guy in the world then, all of a sudden you become the coolest guy in the world.
Intelligent people are usually uninformed about popular culture, but are have great insight into the world of the unknown. Truly intelligent people are usually so caught up in their mind that they don’t let physical appearance and popular culture interfere. The great thing that comes with intelligence, is the strive for knowledge which helps them be successful in their own future. Usually they are not noticed socially, but do not care.
Attractive people are known to be “lucky”. Their attractiveness comes embedded in their genes. Being attractive is only a physical attribute and not a personality trait. In today’s world, an attractive person is easily spotted in a crowd of “uninteresting looking people”. Their appearance can sometimes be a distraction to who they really are. For example, a study was done to see if attractive people were more likely to get jobs than un-attractive people. They found, after the interviews were conducted, that attractive people with less experience are more likely to get jobs than unattractive people with greater experience.
Having a mix of all would be the ideal, but I believe being strong is the most important trait to have. Lincoln is a great example of a strong person. He had many struggles during and before his presidency, but nonetheless, he became one of America’s most accomplished president. His great strong personality and leadership is what he is known for as a person. In the picture below is Lincoln. One can tell that he is very prominent and strong. His strong gesture in the picture sends out a message that he is is a leader also.

Everybody gets in accidents. It’s bound to happen whatever the circumstances are. Whether it is a car accident or party foul everyone is doomed for a accident to happen in their lifetime. A personal experience of mine that involved accidents happened to be a life and death one.
In 10th grade my mom would drop me off at a tutoring center in carrollton. Across from my tutoring place there was a McDonald’s that I always went to to get a bite to eat during break. One day after tutoring, I was getting a little hungry so I ran to McDonald’s and bought some food. Feeling relief from starvation, I put back on my hat and decided to jay walk back a 45 MPH limit, busy street. Right as I was about to cross in the corner of my eye, right where my vision met the visor of my hat, I see a little black object on wheels coming down the street. Yes I am aware of it now that it was a car, but at the time the only thought in my head was “What the hell was that?” because I couldn’t see what it was . The last thing I remember was tire wheels screeching and blackness. I woke up 30 minutes later on the side of the street with utter confusion and pain, surrounded by people left and right yelling and groping me. All I see throughout my vision is blurriness and apparitions. I thought I had died. Slowly snapping back to reality I realize that, yes I am alive. Thankfully, the only thing that came out of it was a broken ankle and a huge bruise on my arm as big a chocolate bagel. Later I asked my parents what had happened and they told me that I had got hit in the arm by a Chevy SUV’s side mirror at 35 MPH, flipped a 720, landed and broke my ankle. I laughed because I pictured myself being tossed around in the air and then they said if I would’ve gone a little further in front of the car, I would have been road kill. At that moment, in all seriousness, I drowned in revelation.
